An Update from Rev Jemima Strain, Pioneer Minister.

So what does a pioneer minister do? As I come to the end of this first month, I wanted to share with you a little about the things that have been confirmed.

At the moment I am still finding my way. Trying to build relationships and share ideas. Sometimes it feels like a slow start, at other times it's really exciting. The Pantivity is going ahead. I have had many conversations about this.... There is currently a discussion about which Saturday it will be held on and so more information will be sent out about this soon.

Messy Church will be starting at Winchcombe Farm Nursery in Tysoe. It will be held in their treehouse and forest school. I am hoping that we will be able to have the first one in November. More information to come soon.

Finally, and the most exciting thing I have been developing is something I am calling 'Active Bible Stories'. It involves movement, stretching, pilates, yogaesque style movement to tell the bible story and then has a Christian meditation. It's to encourage children to learn from an early age to be still, breathe, pray and find God's peace. I really believe it will help in the future for those who suffer with mental health problems.
So far Wellsbourne Primary School have agreed to trial it. They have two classes in each year group and I will be taking their RE/PE lessons with different year groups. I'm sharing the dates with you so you can pray for the children, the staff and myself, that they may discover a little more about the love and peace of God. Thank you.
Y2 — Monday 2nd October — 1.30-3pm/2x45min sessions
Y4 — Wednesday 18th October — 1.30-3pm/2x45min sessions
Y6 — Tuesday 21st November- 1.30-3pm/2x45min sessions
BLAST youth group at KMC (Kenilworth Methodist Church) are also trialing it in October. I would also like to invite everyone and anyone to try out two of the sessions. The date I am planning is Saturday Morning, 28th October 9:30-11:30am at Dale Street Methodist Church. Although this primarily aimed at primary school aged children, every age I believe will benefit from it. Everyone is welcome, especially you. Wear some comfy clothes and come along. I would value your feedback too.
